IP Address
Obtain IP Address automatically (DHCP Client) |
Do NOT select this unless you have a DHCP Server on your LAN. A DHCP Server can provide an IP Address to PCs and other devices when they boot. |
Fixed IP Address | Select this if your LAN does not have a DHCP Server, and enter the following data. |
IP Address: Default: 192.168.1.77 |
The IP Address must be unused, and compatible with the PCs on your LAN. Usually, this means the first 3 fields should be the same as your PC, and the last field must be an unused number between 1 and 254. |
Network Mask: Default: 255.255.255.0 |
Enter the same Network Mask (Subnet Mask) used by PCs on your LAN. |
Gateway (Router): Default: None |
If your LAN has a Router or Gateway, enter its IP Address here.
Otherwise, leave this blank. |
DNS Server
A DNS (Domain Name Server) translates Internet addresses (e.g. microsoft.com) to IP Addresses.
Use the same values as on your PC, or recommended by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
At least one (1) DNS entry is required if using either the "E-Mail Notification" or the "Internet Access" feature.
Otherwise, the DNS entries may be left blank.
If multiple entries are provided, the first available server will be used.
Primary | IP Address of the first DNS Server. |
Backup 1: | IP Address of the DNS Server to be tried if the first server is busy. |
Backup 2: | IP Address of the DNS Server to be tried if the second server is busy. |
